General Information
French/English as a Second Language Courses
Full-time students may take French as a Second Language Courses throughout their law studies, without additional charge. Simply go the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at 600 King Edward (telephone number 613-562-5743) where your second language skills will be evaluated. You will then be able to register in a second language course at an appropriate level. A form needs to be filled out and signed by the O.L.B.I. then brought to the Academic Affairs Office (FTX 237) for registration. Registration in these courses must take place by the deadlines indicated in the « Important Dates » section of this guide. These courses will be registered as “extracurricular courses” and will appear on your transcript, however will not be taken into account in the calculation of your g.p.a. for your law degree.

May be done on-line at www.infoweb.uottawa.ca.
Student Identification Card
All full-time and part-time students must have a student identification card. Student cards are automatically renewed upon re-registration. If you do not have a student card, or if you have lost it, contact InfoService in Tabaret Hall. You must present your card in order to write exams, borrow books from the University’s libraries, access the University’s Sports Services and many other services.
Release of Names and Addresses
Students who think that they may rank in the top 10% of their first or second year class must sign the authorization form available at the Academic Affairs Office (FTX 237). This information will be released to law firms or any other prospective employer who makes the request. Please note that this from is valid for the duration of your studies unless otherwise specified.
Final Transcripts and the Law Society of Upper Canada
Graduating students who wish to have their official transcripts sent to the Law Society of Upper Canada (Bar Admission Course) must complete a request form at Info-Service in Tabaret Hall.
