Denise Bruehl-Moser is Associate Professor (PD, Privatdozentin) at the Faculty of Law at the University of Basel.

Denise Bruehl-Moser was a Research Fellow in Berlin (Humboldt University), in Heidelberg (Max Planck-Institute for Foreign Public and Public International Law), in Brussells (Université Libre), in Vienna (Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law, University of Vienna), in Paris (Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne) and as well as in London (Institute of Advanced Legal Studies).

She holds the Venia docendi for Public International Law, European Law and Public (Constitutional and Administrative) Law of Switzerland since 2006. She has lectured on diverse subjects in the field of Public International Law and Public Law, including Economic Law.

She was also a Member of the Basel and Swiss Bar from 1997 to 2007. She worked as an Associate in a Law Firm in Berne as well as a Senior Associate of one of the Switzerland’s largest Law Firms in Basel.

Her publications are in the field of the right of self-determination and democracy, of the governmental structure and governance bridging the gap between national consensus, europeanisation and internationalisation, of federalism and of procedural law. Her research focuses on these subjects as well as on terrorism and national security.
