Lessons Learned by Babes on Bay Street (13-03-2013)

Janet Graham has spent her entire career on Bay Street. As an MBA/CA, she has worked as a Vice President at CIBC, an investment banker at Wood Gundy, and the head of an advisory services/consulting business focused on real estate finance. Today, she is a Corporate Director and the proud founder of  Babes on Bay Street tells the stories of fifteen senior corporate women.  Touching on topics ranging from early life lessons to work-life balance, these stories reveal what it takes to be successful on Bay Street.

Social and Economic Rights: the South African Experience (11-02-2013)

Appointed in 1998 by Nelson Mandela, Justice Zak Yacoob is the author of the landmark Government of the Republic of South Africa v Grootboom judgment among many others.  He discussed the significance of social and economic rights as justiciable rights in light of the South African experience.

Guest speaker: Justice Zak Yacoob of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

Thomas Feeney Annual Memorial Lecture (09-01-2013)

The Feeney Lecture
Thomas G. Feeney, in whose name a fund is established and whom this annual lecture honours, was the founding Dean of the Common Law Section. His name is indelibly attached to the study of common law at the University of Ottawa. Dean Feeney strove to build a law school whose graduates would have a solid foundation for the practice of law and would be of service to the public and to their profession in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada.
