Joint LL.B. Programs

Programme de droit canadien

The Faculty now offers the new Programme de droit canadien (PDC) allowing students to earn both an LL.B. and an LL.L. in three years, thus opening the doors to the practice of law across Canada and abroad. For more information, please visit the PDC website.

LL.L. - National Program

While common law is practised in the United States, Britain and the Commonwealth countries, civil law is practised in Latin America, in most of Europe and in much of Asia, including Japan. These two legal systems are present in three quarters of the countries of the world (see " World Legal Systems "). Knowledge of both legal systems helps to ensure access to national and international markets in an era of globalization. Read more...

LL.B. - National Program

The Common Law Section’s National Program at uOttawa is designed to immerse graduates of Canadian civil law schools in the common law tradition. This 8-month program leads to an “LL.B. – National Program” degree. For more information, please visit the National Program website.

LL.B.-M.B.A.

For persons interested in pursuing a career in business law or in senior management in the private sector, there is no better combination than these two degrees.  The Faculty of Law and the Telfer School of Management are pleased to offer this joint program to students who already have work experience or who achieve exceptional results while in law school.  For more information, visit the LL.B. - M.B.A.. website.

LL.B. – MA (International Affairs)

The Common Law Section, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University offer a combined four-year program leading to a Master of Arts (International Affairs) and a Bachelor of Laws degree.
