Lukasz Zelechowski

Lukasz Zelechowski is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Warsaw in 2009 for his dissertation on security interests in industrial property rights. Dr. Zelechowski has authored two books and a number of publications on intellectual property law and civil law. His main fields of research are: trademark law, law on combating unfair competition, civil law liability for infringements of intellectual property rights, industrial property in the law of the European Union and in international law. He is also a frequent contributor to conferences and seminars.
In 2007 he was a scholarship holder at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Munich. In 2009 his doctoral dissertation on security interests in industrial property rights received the award of the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education in the annual competition organized by the Polish Patent Office for the best dissertations in the field of industrial property.
In addition to his academic career Dr. Zelechowski has been involved since 2004 with one of the leading Polish patent attorney firms (LDS Lazewski Depo & Partners) (senior associate until 2010; of counsel since 2010), where he gained a vast practical experience in industrial property law.
