First-Year French Common Law Program Students Participate in the Heenan Blaikie Moot
On March 5, 2011, the Heenan Blaikie Moot Court Competition took place at the Ontario Law Courts in downtown Ottawa.Over 75 first year students from the French Common Law Program came together to defend their respective clients within the framework of their torts class.
The event was a great success, with the participants displaying a high level of intellectual rigour and oral pleading skill. The students then joined their torts professors and the judges at a celebratory lunch sponsored by Heenan Blaikie LLP.
Professor François Larocque, Dean of the French Common Law Program, and Professor Louise Bélanger-Hardy presented prizes recognizing the following students as the best oralists: Aida Aghajan, Sylvia Aghemo, Dana Anktaly, Josiane Reid, and Amanda Simard.
