LL.M., University of Ottawa, 1995; Diploma in Legislative Drafting, 1990; LL.B., University of Windsor, 1980; B.A., Queen's University, 1977. Member of the Bar of the Province of Ontario.

Paul Salembier is a General Counsel with the federal Department of Justice, in which capacity he provides advice on legislative and regulatory initiatives in relation to aboriginal affairs.  He is the author of Legal & Legislative Drafting (2009) and Regulatory Law and Practice in Canada (2004) and a co-author of an annual annotation entitled Modern First Nations Legislation. He has also written articles in the areas of regulatory law, statutory interpretation and aboriginal law.

He has previously taught regulatory law, legal drafting and statutory interpretation at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law, and has given courses in regulatory law and legislative drafting to government legal counsel in Bangladesh, Malaysia and Singapore.
