Radical Readers Presents Jameel Jaffer
Radical Readers will present “Torture, Secrecy, and the Rule of Law” featuring Jameel Jaffer, a litigator for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Law, FTX 202.Mr. Jaffer will present his book Administration of Torture: A Documentary Record from Washington to Abu Ghraib and Beyond which is co-authored with Amrit Singh. Relying on thousands of documents obtained by the ACLU through the Freedom of Information Act, the book provides a detailed account of the Bush administration’s torture policies and their consequences.
Nathalie Des Rosiers, Acting Vice-President of Governance and former Dean of the Civil Law Section, will provide commentary at this event.
