Common Law Bulletin, Spring/Summer 2009: Our Commitment to Social Justice
The Spring/Summer 2009 edition of the Common Law Bulletin, entitled “From Theory to Action: Our Commitment to Social Justice,” is now available in print and can also be viewed online.
The Spring/Summer ’09 Bulletin focuses on “Social Justice” at Common Law, featuring stories about alumni, faculty and students who have confronted issues facing groups that have been historically or are currently disadvantaged in society. Some highlights include a feature on Professor Martha Jackman’s efforts to bridge the gap between theory and action, a profile of alumnus and defender of civil liberties, Cameron Ward (’83), and a detailed look at how Common Law student Shlomo Friedman balances two distinct social justice perspectives.
Also featured in this issue is a tribute to one of Common Law’s most distinguished alumni and benefactors, the late Gabe Tsampalieros (’73), who is warmly remembered with a feature article written by classmate and friend, Tom Connolly (’73).
