January Term Prof. Michael Lawrence Authors New Book
Michael Lawrence, a professor of law at Michigan State University College of Law and a January Term professor at the University of Ottawa, has authored a new book entitled, “Radicals in Their Own Time: Four Hundred Years of Struggle for Liberty and Equal Justice in America” (Cambridge University Press), which is set to be released on January 17, 2011.The book profiles five American activists—Roger Williams, Thomas Paine, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, W. E. B. Du Bois and Vine Deloria Jr.—all who advocated for greater freedom for themselves and for their fellow citizens.
