"A law school located in Canada's capital is bound to have its advantages and the University of Ottawa has definately capitalized on those advantages.

Karen Northey - L.L.B. 1999

The University of Ottawa, located in the heart of the nation's capital, is a vibrant centre of learning with a total student population of 20,000. The largest bilingual university in North America, the University is a major player in the cultural and economic development of the region.

The campus is in a friendly setting next to the Rideau Canal, close to downtown Ottawa. It is within walking distance of the Byward Market, a centre of activity with cafés, shops and a farmer's market. It is within walking distance of Parliament, the National Library, the National Archives and the Supreme Court of Canada.

The city offers many recreational activities including cycling, boating and skating. In the nearby Gatineau Hills and the Québec Laurentian Hills you can ski, hike, camp, swim and cycle.
