Jennifer Chandler joined the Faculty of Law in 2002, after practising law as an associate lawyer with Stikeman Elliott and serving as a law clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice John Sopinka of the Supreme Court of Canada.
At the Faculty of Law, she currently teaches medical law, tort law and a graduate level course called “Technoprudence,” which addresses technology and legal theory.
The overarching theme of Professor Chandler's research is law, science and technology, particularly with respect to the social effects of emerging scientific knowledge and emerging technologies, and their interaction with law and regulation.
Her current research addresses the legal implications of advances in neuroscience and neuro-imaging technologies, regulatory policy related to medical practices such as organ donation and transplantation, and the ethics and law of scientific inquiry.
